After a few writing rejections at the end of last year, 2016 has started off with a bit more success.
Following the success of the Actor Awareness scratch night at Canal Cafe Theatre (where we got some great feedback) I was thrilled to see that I had been long-listed for the Red Women’s Theatre Awards- a new award for political play writing.
A few days later I was even more excited to find out that my play ‘Spurn The Dust’ had been selected to be in the finals on Sunday 6th March at Greenwich Theatre. The four finalists will have heir plays performed as a rehearsed reading.
6th March was chosen for being Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day and will be a real celebration of women’s writing. My play will be directed by Kate Saffin with actors Fiona Whitelaw and Alex Appleby.
Tickets are available from the theatre and I can’t wait!
If you can’t make it to the theatre, keep an ear out for me on the Ian Barclay show on Wandsworth Radio On Monday 7th.
